Rev. Roger Shock is a native of Jackson, Tennessee. He graduated from North Side High School in Jackson, Tennessee in 1979, and from the University of Tennessee in Martin with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 1984. In 1990 he received a Master of Divinity degree from Memphis Theological Seminary, Memphis, Tennessee.
Roger was ordained a Cumberland Presbyterian Clergyman in 1991. He transferred his Ordination to the United Methodist Church in the Mississippi Conference in 2004. He has served churches in Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Arkansas.
Roger’s wife, Jan also graduated from North Side High School and studied at Lambuth College. She works as a Lactation Consultant at Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, AR and for the MSDH WIC Program in Monroe and Chickasaw Counties.
The Shocks have five children, Addison, Taylor, her twin sister Carson, Kennedy, and Camden.
Roger lists his hobbies as collecting sports cards, following SEC athletics, and supporting athletics at the University of Tennessee. With his family he enjoys hiking, camping, and mission work. He is fond of relaxing in his ENO hammock.
